Known affectionately by many as “Scottie Skittles,” Rumsey was a beloved teacher, mentor, husband, father, grandfather, and a cornerstone of early childhood education in the region.

For more than three decades, Rumsey helped shape the minds and hearts of young learners at Bright Beginnings School, where he worked side by side with his wife, Billie. Together, they co-created an early elementary program that earned admiration for its joyful, imaginative, and character-building approach to education.
