South Amboy Car Accident: Further details released after early Wednesday crash that killed driver on Route 35 in South Amboy


Middlesex County, NJ — Authorities are investigating a tragic single-vehicle crash that claimed one life early Wednesday morning on a busy stretch of Route 35.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:50 a.m. following reports of a serious accident in the northbound lanes of NJ-35. Upon arrival, first responders found a vehicle overturned and fully engulfed in flames.

Despite the swift efforts of firefighters and emergency medical personnel, the occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of family.

No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash, and no additional injuries were reported.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, in conjunction with local law enforcement, has launched a full investigation into the cause of the incident. Officials have not provided details about what may have led to the fiery crash.

As the investigation unfolded, authorities temporarily closed a portion of the highway, causing delays for morning commuters. The road has since reopened.
